Recordare to Distribute capella Products in USA and Canada
LOS ALTOS, CALIFORNIA (January 11, 2007) – Recordare LLC today announced an exclusive agreement with capella-software GmbH to distribute and resell capella’s English-language music software products in the United States and Canada. The capella products are the most popular notation software in Germany, where they are well known for combining power and ease of use at affordable prices.
Recordare will distribute English-language versions of the following capella products:
- capella professional, the easy-to-use notation editor that works like a word processor.
- capella-scan, a music scanning program with high accuracy and powerful editing tools.
- capella playAlong, a program to convert MusicXML and MIDI files into play-along practice CDs.
- tonica and tonica plus, programs that do automatic four-part harmonization in a variety of classical styles.
The capella professional, capella-scan, and capella playAlong programs now support the MusicXML format. The capella professional and capella-scan programs can write MusicXML files, while capella playAlong can read MusicXML files. Music created by the tonica and tonica plus programs can be read by capella professional and saved to MusicXML format from there. All the programs will be available from Recordare’s online store at http://store.recordare.com/capella.html.
“We are delighted to be introducing capella into the USA and Canada” said Michael Good, CEO of Recordare LLC. “Now that the capella product line supports the MusicXML format, it will be much easier for people to use these wonderful programs and share the results with their friends and colleagues.”
“We are pleased to announce our cooperation with Recordare to support our North American marketing strategy” stated Edita Werner, Managing Director of capella-software. “We regard our association with Recordare as a stroke of luck, in that we share the same business philosophy: a solid combination of musical expertise with professional software development.”
