There are now many publications from authors all over the world describing their MusicXML experiences and evaluations, together with press coverage about Recordare and its MusicXML technology. Here are some of the more detailed papers and presentations from Recordare:

Using MusicXML 2.0 for Music Editorial Applications describes how different MusicXML 2.0 features can be used in preparing digital critical editions. It has been published in the proceedings of the Digital Editing Between Experiment and Standardization symposium held in 2007 in Paderborn, Germany (December 2009).

MusicXML: Methodology and Technical Methods is the most recent MusicXML overview presentation. It was given at a colloquium on Digital Media and Music Editions held at the Academy of Sciences and Literature in Mainz, Germany (November 2006).

Lessons from the Adoption of MusicXML as an Interchange Standard analyzes the MusicXML adoption process and suggests lessons that can be applied for XML language designers in other application areas. It was presented at the XML 2006 conference in Boston. PDF versions of the full paper and presentation slides are also available (December 2006).

MusicXML in Commercial Applications appears in Music Analysis East and West. Published jointly by the Center for Computer Assisted Research in the Humanities and MIT Press, it is available from Amazon and other bookstores (August 2006).
